Other than the adhesive situation, I would highly recommend this feeder. You can make your nectar solution akin to actual nectar by mixing one cup of white refined sugar to four cups of water. It has only one spot of glue holding it in place and if it gives way, the bottle will drop out. I would highly recommend though, that a few drops of epoxy glue be put around the top of the band that holds the hanger to the bottle. It takes minutes to take down, disassemble, clean, fill with fresh nectar and re-hang. feeder is, hands down, our top pick for the best hummingbird feeder. It seems well made and sturdy and does not attract bees. Best-1 hummingbird feeders have developed a strong reputation for being durable, reliable and effective hummingbird feeders.
Upon receipt, I replaced the old feeder with this one and, at first, the birds seemed a little reluctant at first but that lasted a short while and they have taken to it in a big way - constant traffic all day long. It also has a perch that I find virtually all the birds use and it seems to encourage them to stay longer. It is the right size (8 oz.) for me because I clean and change out the nectar at minimum every three days so it prevents a lot of waste. I shopped, read reviews, and chose this one because of all the positives.
